The Templar Code
In this brief you’ll get an idea of what being a Templar Knight is all about. It’s a lot of fun to participate in Chivalry events and talk about the history of ‘the knighthood’. Yet, there’s a very serious side to becoming a true Knights Templar. When you become a Templar Knight you take vows to live differently to everyone else. You see the true value in honor, dignity, grace and fortune. I’m not talking about money here, although we are entitled to acquire that too. For now, by fortune I simply imply spiritual fortune. Before you get the wrong idea…allow me to explain. When I formed the Knights Templar, almost 1,000 years ago, we all took vows of poverty and chastity. Now, I can’t prove that all of the new Templar Knights will be living up to their vows. This is up to them. However, I have personally done this again myself. This is the reason why The Knights Templar was so blessed in the first place. We gave everything over to God and took vows to protect his children (children in the God sense), and gave what we had to the Kingdom of Christ. Because of this, we became a very wealthy organization of noble soldiers and workers.
Hugues de Payens, who I was as confirmed within the bible code, was 59 years of age when The Knights Templar were officially recognized in 1129. We were known as ‘The Poor Fellow-Soldiers Of Christ’ and also ‘The Poor Knights Of Christ. I died at age 66 in 1136. Our image was about to change rapidly and due to the vows we took of poverty and chastity we became a very wealthy Christian organization indeed. Ten years later, in the year of 1139, we were awarded special privileges by the Vatican, when Pope Innocent II exempted us from lay and ecclesiastical jurisdiction. Between 1129 and 1312 the Order thrived, for 183 years until King Phillip who could not pay his debts to The Templar had them rounded up and burned at the stake or killed. Thus, Friday The Thirteenth lives on today as a notorious and evil carry over from the past, but only to those who believe as this is the only way superstition can affect someones psyche. The Templar’s goals are no different this final time around and once again we will prevail. Some may say we failed in our bid, yet we achieved victory after victory for nearly 200 years. The Knights Templar succeeded in what we set out to do. This time will be no different.
The Templar Code is extremely important. It represents the distinctive behavior a Templar Knight, regardless of age or gender, must adhere to in order to represent The Knights Templar with honor, dignity, grace and maturity. With respect to preserving innocent life; The Templar Code is also necessary, in ensuring that whilst combatant a Templar Knight does not place innocents in harms way. After all, The Knights Templar exist to protect innocent lives, not threaten them in any way.
